Garry D. Grams, Ph.D, CCC
Garry’s areas of practice include helping individuals, couples and families manage the emotional, cognitive and relational difficulties that often accompany chronic illness, sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, and addiction problems including substance use, gambling and pornography. In addition, he also helps clients manage normative life transitions, grief and loss, stress management, and marital problems including separation and divorce.
Garry has over three decades of experience as a counsellor, behavioural consultant, family therapist, and clinical supervisor. He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto and is a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. He is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Family Practice, Faculty of Medicine at UBC, and a founding member of Pacific Coast Family Therapy Training Association.
